Hi freddel02 - GARP has not yet released passing rates for Nov 2012 (nor have they, to my knowledge, given a date for when such information will be released)
The mark you posted is well within range. Using a standard midpoint scoring method that test taker is about right at 50%. Pass rates have been hovering right around 50% historically for L1 as well. My guess is about half of the point that scored 2,2,3,3 passed and the others failed. Remember, these are quartiles. The scores can fluctuate within them
Thanks for your answer. I thought that it was similar to the CFA (between 30 and 40%) but this more around 50% for part I;
"How do you feel about the recent May 2011 FRM exam pass rates? Too high? Too low? Just right? Part I - 53.1% . . (Nov 2010 rate was 39.3%) Part II - 61.6% . . (Nov 2010 rate was 54.9%)"
GARP just announced the Nov 12 pass rates on their FB page https://www.facebook.com/garpfrm
November 2012 FRM Exams are as follows: Part I was 46.7% and Part II was 56%.
... excluding slightly anomalously high May 2011, these pass rates appear to be consistent with an emergent trend: P1 calibrated just below 50%, and P2 between 50% and 60%.
