How is the Quantitative Analysis spreadsheet organized

Hi, just bought the full course from BT for FRM Part 1 and was going through the video lecture and learning spreadsheet.

I'm finding it hard to understand how are the learning spreadsheets organized i.e.
a) what is the naming convention for the file name e.g. this is the file I was looking at "P1-T2-QA1-QA2-QA3-prob-random-variables-v3.xlsx" what do the various parts in the name mean?
b) Inside the spreadsheet I see tabs that seemingly do not follow any sequence and have naming convention as follows

What do these names mean? Are there are reference to the GARP books, VitalSource content and if so which part or the slide deck?

So far I'm not able to consistently decipher the organization of the excel spreadsheets which is a shame as I was really looking forward to using learning spreadsheets. Please help. thanks.

What prompted this question was the following slide where the lecturer says to refer to the spreadsheet and I don't see this particular tab in the spreadsheet.

@ejaz_malik Hi, I know the naming convention can look complex but let me try to break it down. The P1 (P1-T2-QA1-QA2-QA3-prob-random-variables-v3.xlsx) stands for part 1 (AKA Level 1 since there are 2 levels to the exam). The T2 denotes that this is the second topic of Part 1 - Quantitative Analysis (with the first topic being Foundations of Risk Management). The QA1, QA2, and QA3 refer to the reading. So here we can tell that this spreadsheet covers the first three readings within the quant section of the first exam.

When you see numbers on the spreadsheet they refer to the first three readings in that section (as you see below). When you get to Chapter 4 you will see that now the spreadsheet is labeled QA4 - QA5 - QA6 meaning that the the spreadsheet covers the next 3 readings.

The version number just helps us keep track of GARP updates (so not important). What we try to do within each spreadsheet is cover the quantitative problems that we give out, the quantitative examples in our study notes, and the examples from our slides this way you can always see how an answer is derived and test your own knowledge.

I hope this helps,
CC

@ejaz_malik Please also keep in mind that everything may not match up perfectly, as we have not started updating the materials for 2025 yet. There may be some information missing from the XLS or info in the XLS that needs to be removed. We've also just recently started to update the format of the XLS so the Table of Contents and Tabs are more clearly labeled as far as the materials they are associated with (Notes, PQs, videos, etc.).

You can view our publishing process here for more information on updates for 2025: https://forum.bionicturtle.com/threads/important-please-read-publishing-process-for-2025.24953/. We appreciate your patience, as it takes a great deal of time to update the materials every year.
