I will soon start attempting to answer as many questions as possible in preparation for the exam in November. I have a few sources of questions from which to draw from, however when it comes to the BT practice questions can you shed some light on the naming conventions that have been used. For example the following convention is used, P1.T1.603. Market risk (Topic Review). The first 4 characters ie P1 and T1 obviously refer to Part 1, Topic 1, but what does 603 refer to? I am asking because it would be good to focus on the most relevant practice questions, or if you have some further advice please advise. Thanks

Hello @Tim_Rogers

The most relevant questions will begin 9xx, which reflect 2019 (2018=8xx, 2017=7xx, 6xx=2016, etc.).

I assume that you intend to purchase one of our study packages, as you are currently a free member so you don't have access to our practice questions. Please note that if you do not purchase a study package, you will only be able to view the actual practice questions and not the answers and explanations. Paid members can also access the paid sections of the forum where our practice questions each have a discussion thread to help you better understand the concepts. Please let me know if you have any questions about our purchasing process.

Thank you,

Nicole

Part of our motivation for this numbering system was that we observed so many practice questions, floating out there, of varying quality and relevance levels. It's hard to ascertain relevance. So this system effective time-stamps the year during which the question was written (e.g., P1.TX.8XX = 2018, as Nicole explained) and gives the user a superficial but instant sense of time relevance, so they can start with a bias toward more recently written questions.
