Please give some opinions on the FRM handbook.

Hi All,

I am reading the book for Part II exam now and almost finish two of them: operational risk, market risk.
But still feel my schedule will be very tight.

I heard that people is using handbook to prepare for the exam.
Could any one give me some hints on the following resources:
1. FRM Hand Book (7th version)
2. GARP Reading text books for 2012 (4)

If I directly switch to the handbook from now on, is this good enough for me to prepare for the exam?

Thanks a lot.

FRM handbook is a comprehensive coverage of all the topics of the risk management and all the associated topics. If you want to prepare well and have sufficient time than you can use the handbook. This will definitely help you in the long run and not merely for the exam. Some people generally use Scheweser notes and other allied notes to prepare for the exam.
If you can read all the FRM text books it will be beneficial in your preparation and help you to revise. But you should cover all the readings assigned for the FRM. If you can learn other topics that might be helpful in your prep than you can do that also. But in the end it depends how much effort and time you can give , otherwise there is no limit on the amount of things you can learn in risk management.
In the end be steady, progressive and diligent in learning. Best of luck !!

thanks

Thanks all for the comments and response. I think I am going to stick with the FRM text book. I have two books left. One is the credit risk and the other is Financial risk Management. Not sure if I can finish all of them ahead of time. I am going to try my best.

Have a nice weekend.
