Confused with format

Hello all. I apologize if this question is rather academic, but I've read many threads, and searched many times, and I'm still a bit confused in setting up my study time and utilizing Bionic Turtle, and I don't want to waste more valuable study time.

I've viewed the three parts of the "Foundations" video first. I then started studying the GARP book. First thing I'm finding is that the GARP book (the first of the four, Part I Foundations) seems much more detailed than the three Foundation videos. No problem of course, just curious.

Where my real confusion lies is that after I read chapt. 1 and then chapt. 2 of the GARP Foundations book, I was able to find the corresponding practice questions in BT questions section (Jorian Chpt. 1 and Stultz Chpt. 3). However, I've gone through chapt. 3 and 4 in the book and I'm not finding corresponding questions in BT.

Again, I apologize if I'm overlooking something, but it's been frustrating for me.

Thank you for your time and any assistance you can offer.
Regards

Hi Bob,

It sounds like you are accessing the order of the Study Planner http://www.bionicturtle.com/my-account/study-planner , which is correct.
You won't find us (or anybody) instantly updated with practice questions to the 2012 curriculum: GARP only recently released it.
For example, with respect to Chapter 3, I am adding new questions one at a time (http://forum.bionicturtle.com/threads/p1-t1-58-portfolio-possibilities-curve.5229/)
and soon the first PDF for the chapter goes to the Study Planner.

Nobody will have what you are looking for, unless they re-cycle old questions or mix them up into mock exams (which we are also doing this year, but by definition, those lack correspondence to the assignments). As the year goes passes, our PQ database increasingly correlates to the fresh exam.

Basically, you are doing the right thing and, to use us to understand that we are always adding new questions to try and keep up with the newest FRM assignments, but we don't bother to re-label the old questions to give a different appearance, we are transparent about their source (more subtly, we are actually prioritizing the generation of fresh practice questions over the re-packaging of old questions into the new format)

Let me know if that doesn't make sense, thanks, David

David, thank you. I will need to look more thoroughly through the forum threads for the new questions.

Bob, thanks ... although just to clarify (because the forums won't necessarily satisfy a want of organization). Here is the process:
  • The daily question is posted to the forum and organized (see lower boards) into the relevant topic. However, comments/questions to the thread float them up, so any particular board is *not* organized sequentially. The purpose of the forum is communication.
  • After I finish a batch associated with a reading, we (Suzanne) uploads the collection to the Study Planner as PDF. In this way, the Study Planner is meant to represent sequential organization
Thanks, David

Hi David,

Quick question, I notice that you have divided your product line in three tiers. Tier 1 and 2 have obvious differences with one missing the videos. What is the difference between tier 2 and 3?

Thanks

Hello David,
I subscribed to email RSS alerts to be notified of any new content published on the site.
But here is the first I learn (from lens) that you've published the new product division.
Isn't the RSS service working?

I bought your Part 2 content about a week ago...will I have access to the 2012 videos, as I see they are only included in the tier 2 products?

Regards

@lens: Tier 3 adds only the learning spreadsheets (XLS). As we've just increased the average price with these Tiers, Tier 3 (which adds the XLS) is *not* recommended for most candidates frankly, who will not have the time nor inclination to utilize them. Rather, the XLS are historically used by an intermediate/advanced minority (although they tend to require more support).

@Hend: we haven't started the new publishing (we are working hard on updating currently). I see your P2 purchase, thank you! You were automatically grandfathered into the highest Tier 3: anyone who bought before yesterday has access to everything (we would not think of any other approach!)

What is lens? When you say you subscribed to the email RSS alerts, what do you mean exactly, do you refer to the checkboxes here at http://www.bionicturtle.com/my-account/settings ? thanks, David

Hi Hend,

Re: "you so much for rewarding me for the early purchase. made me happy." No problem! Actually, you rewarded us with your purchase :)

Re: Feedburner: ooohhhh, thank you, I see what you mean! (I forgot about the RSS feeds personally, I am glad they work in transition. I am going to write a ticket to check them anyway).
We have yet to do any additional announcement/email: I am working hard on content/study plan/etc ... so we resume the weekly email (and formal announcement) NEXT WEEK. Thanks for helping me understand how you interact with us, it is great to know, David
