What's your background in mathematics/econometrics/statistics/finance? Any previous knowledge? Hard to say without knowing more.

If you can go through the study notes without difficulty, it should imply that you know the maths/stats well enough for the purpose of the exam.
Obviously, the more extensive knowledge you have, the easier it will be.
In my opinion you can probably get by with just algebra. It would be beneficial to know calculus at a basic level at least though as some material does involve derivatives and integrals, limits etc; and it would help you comprehend even those things that can be solved using just algebra (but can be solved with calculus as well) better.
Exposure to statistics or econometrics is beneficial but in my opinion not critical as you are not asked to derive anything, and the notes explain what you need to know. Reading the chapters on probability, stats and regression is probably a good idea though.

Hi Hossam,

In reference to "Do you need to read the readings?" See here: http://www.bionicturtle.com/faqs/category/frm-product#do-i-need-the-handbook-and-readings

If you are planning to prepare for the FRM, than yes I would recommend that you begin viewing the study notes.

Thanks,
Suzanne
