Pre-exam advice and tips

from my experience in L1 in Nov, i think the most important is:

Don't get frustrated during the exam if y do not solve many Qs, & do not give up till the last second to solve every Q y can, y will never know, maybe this Q make y be in 2nd qurtile & let y pass.

i noticed that on average, y have to be in 2nd qurtile to pass.

they're supposed to close doors at 7h45 - but they are probably often late;o)
7.45 because they have to explain many things before the beginning of exam...

@qin..Its a matter of getting more than 15 min early...why risk reaching last minute?..just try to be there early enough to give you sufficient time for check in and relax before the exam...and not have last min unnecessary panic..

by the way, panic is a good thing for any examiner, since it raises adrenaline, which solicit yr memory.
So, every one gets panicked ^_^

Ok,

About to do 2012 mock exam #2;

2012 mock #1 seemed unrealisticaly easy though (got 100%, or, technically 24/25 since I couldn't find the lasts page of the exam and had to do that question later when I stumbled upon the last page. Also seemed like the questions were 'quicker to solve')

Will then review BT's Mock exam again, before rounding off with David's 'review' videos.

Then just relax and get a good nights' sleep. :)
GARP: bring it on!

Good luck to everyone - and thanks David & Suzanne for great support!

Felt confident after solving the BT mock questions. Do the exam will have the same level of toughness or more? This is my first time so i m pretty nervous. :oops:

Hello @surojitpalb

You may find our Exam Feedback threads helpful. Many of our members mentioned how they felt about the difficulty of the exam compared to the BT practice questions and the GARP practice exams. I hope that helps!

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this tip, but remembering that there are 181 days from Jan 1st to July 1st (non leap year), and 184 days from July 1st to Jan 1st might save you a minute or two if there are a few fixed income questions with very common coupon dates.
