Newbie needs help with FRM L1

Hi,
I am having hard time following the GARP reading. I think the writer focus too much on math than the concept. For example on page 69 of GARP reading, the author went into detail deriving the CAPM formula, do we really have to know the process and memorize the formulas? There’s similar process on page 73 under Appendix.

Also the end-of-chapter questions are not in multiple choice format. This makes me to doubt and question “are the FRM exams in multiple choice format?” Also, where can I find the solutions to the questions? I can’t seem to find in at the end of the book.

Please help.

"I am having hard time following the GARP reading..." This is why you should use the Bionic Turtle study notes for your studies. The GARP readings should be used for additional clarification when needed.

"Also the end-of-chapter questions are not in multiple choice format." The exam format is multiple-choice only.
