Hello everyone,

Newsletter says : "Registrations for the May and November FRM Exams in 2011 totaled 26,527.
a significant increase over 2010"...A new record in registration in GARP history

May 2011, only 9000 sat for the exam.
That means that Saturday, some 17000 candidates are
sitting for the exam, between both levels.

How do you think this affects our scoring abilities?

Wishing you all the best of luck

Thanks Hend, very interesting ... big number for Saturday. Re: scoring: it doesn't engender any strong hypothesis for me, I could imagine a weak argument that as the exam "grades on a curve," on the theory that additional candidates bring the average down, it is slightly easier on an absolute basis. But I'd have no reason to believe additional candidates bring the average down, so I really don't have any hypothesis (I do perceive the both the average candidate has increased in sophistication, over say 5 years ago, probably due to better information; but, over that period, the exam method has also improved, so the bar is up a couple notches there) ... good luck! David
