FRM Exam question weightings

Hi, maybe an odd question, I realise that the FRM is assigned weightings ie 20% to topic 1, 20% to topic 2 , 30% to topic 3 etc..does this mean that there will be 20 questions assigned to topics 1 & 2 and 30 questions assigned to topics 3 & 4 and that each question is worth 1 point each? Or does GARP assign a different number of questions to a topic regardless of weighting ie say 25 questions to topic 1 but the weighting is only 20%? Or some variant of this. I know that this probably a moot point but I am curious. Thankyou

Hi @Eustice_Langham I had assumed the weighting reflect the actual number of questions, but I admit that I can't recall any verification of that. It would be a good test to see if each of the practice exams comport to this ... sorry I don't know

Hi, I actually happened to do this for the 2021 mock exam to check where I made my mistakes. Can't guarantee there's not a miscount or two since it was done manually, but it should give you an idea.
