FRM Certification

Hi David,

I have one small doubt. For getting FRM certification i should have a minimum of two years professional full-time work experience in the area as mentioned in http://www.garp.org/frm/exam-overview/certification-requirements.aspx. My question is whether this qualification should be after passing of FRM Part-II or my existing experience will qualify to get the certification. Presently i have 4.8 years work ex. in Commercial bank in credit dept. & 1.5 years in NBFC in credit. I have already cleared FRM Part-I in Nov-2012 & going to write Part-II in Nov' 13.

Thanks

Hi ,
Its after passing both parts I and II that you get the certification. After you met atleast two years professional full-time work experience together with criteria of passing both parts not one only that you can get the certification.

thanks

Dear Shakti,
That is for sure that i need to clear both part to be eligible for certification. My question is that whether the minimum 2 years qualification is to be earned after passsing both parts or my existing qualification will do. To give more clarification, suppose i clear FRM Part-2 in Nov' 13, so work experiance earned after Nov'13 will only qualify (e.g. suppose from Jan '14 to Dec' 15) or my existing relevant experiance will suffice to get the same. Hope i made it clear.

Thanks

hi,
@Swarnendu Pathak Your existing work ex is sufficient. The policy is of minimum of 2 yrs work ex related to risk management regardless of whether the work ex is earned after or before clearing the part 2 exam.

thanks

Swarnendu Pathak You inappropriately posted in Today's Daily Question (no worries ...) so I moved this to the forum "About FRM."
Thank you for, in the future, paying attention to where you post queries, thanks!
