I received a survey and shortly received an email on the 2010 exam detail. It will be different. Check it out in GARP.

One key change, that GARP told us about this morning (and I think it was the first we've heard) is that in May, a new candidate can sit for both Level I and Level II. This is a change of their plan and potentially confusing; e.g., passing L1 is still a precondition to passing L2, so a candidate who sits for L1+L2 in May either passes L1 or L1+L2 but not L2 only.

In other words, a L1+L2 candidate will either:

1. Pass L1 and L2, or
2. Pass L1, but fail L2; their next step is to sit for L2 subsequently (e.g., Nov 2010), or
3. Fail L1 such that L2 will not be graded; their next step is to re-sit for L1

Also, one thing I found interesting:

L1: 8am to 12pm = 4 hours and 100 questions = 2.4 minutes avg/question
L2: 2pm to 6pm = 4 hours and 80 questions = 3.0 minutes avg/question

David,

Thank you for clarify this. You are the best.

When I read about the candidate can sit for both level in May, I thought they are going to grade you on L1 during lunch with a machine.

Happy holidays to you.
