2 Issues with 09' FRM exam

Dear David,

Excuse me for the stupidity of this question but I really feel compelled to find out before the exam whether we can take notes, do calculation etc inside the exam booklet. Because as I have noticed from the entire printed copy of 2009 FRM practice exam, the "scratch space" given to us is only one or two pages. I don't believe that's gonna be enough for a quantitatively extensive 5 hour 140-question exam. So to me the solution would be to write on the question papers as I'm doing the question. I've inquired FRM but their reply was quite ambiguous: they said I can write in the booklet but I'm still confused about whether we can write inside the booklet besides the blank paper.

I think you may also be able to offer some advice on another problem for me. I'm seriously doubting the responsiveness and helpfulness of FRM email box because I have been having a name issue with my exam ticket where two neighboring letters in my name are arranged so close to each other that they "look like" one combined letter in the printed ticket. I've flagged this issue to FRM to them (the next day after the email delivery of exam ticket on 20 Oct). And I have been replied with their acknowledgment that they are fixing the problem. However, it's already 11 Nov and has really been pending for about 3 weeks without any solution or status update to me. I'm wondering if this is the normal time that fixing a ticket will take ?

Thank you for your advice!

Cheers!

Hi Liming,

On your first question, Kritina @ GARP just confirmed to me: "Yes candidates can write all over the examination booklet, but we do collect those at the end of each session. "

On your second, she said she will reply to you today on the ticking naming issue.

Thanks, David
