I am having trouble viewing videos on my iPad. Would you please provide instructions on how I may do this. Thanks.

Download using your PC/Mac import to iTunes and push to iPad.
Or, install OnLive desktop, pay $5 a month and get access to virtual PC which runs on a cloud. It includes Flash so you can watch the videos directly from the site.

Thank you so much. I used the first option. I am up and running.

Just FYI, when 2012 videos start next week, we are looking at adding iPad (i.e., camtasia now has an Ipad format) ... I'm not 100% certain yet (as these files are large; e.g., do we replace iPod format with iPad or try both) but I am trying to add native iPad, thanks,

David,

I'm' biased but having an iPad format would be great as the resolution would be so much better, and native iPad can be downloaded directly to your iPad using certain browsers/apps

ahansen,

Okay, good to know. If the iPad format also works for iPod, it will be a no-brainer, we'll just replace the iPod with iPad format (in theory, I *think* this may be true as both are mpeg 4....)

Wmv format works great on ipad. I think Bionicturtle is made for ipad!

I use AVPlayerHD.. Just add the movies to the app via itunes..

Joost: thank you great to hear. FYI, for 2012 FRM videos we are replacing the (previous) ipod format with .mp4, which is apparently suited for ipad (e.g., right sidebar @ http://www.bionicturtle.com/how-to/video/2012.t5.e.-market/), thanks!

David,

However, the 2012 new format doesn't work anymore for ipod. I tried a 2011 video and it works fine.

Would it be possible for ipod users to also see the 2012 videos?

Thanks in advance,

Benjamin.

Hi Benjamin,

In theory, the ipod format (M4V) is available, but we haven't produced it for the 2012 videos to date (T1, T2, T5, and T6) so it would imply both a non-trivial retroactive production and add another (large) file size going forward. Even the additional time element is non-trivial, we can barely make the schedule as is. I "upgraded" to ipad to respond to requests, on the assumption this would address the large apple mobile audience, for lack of a better phrase. I will copy Suzanne, but we'd probably have to hire help to do it

... how important is this? Anyone else need M4V in addition to MP4? Thanks,

What version of the iPod and iTunes do you have?

Nowadays you shouldn't have a problem playing mp4 on an iPod. You can import using advanced settings to optimize for iPod. Update iTunes and look at the the Apple FAQ web-site.

If your iPod is old, or something doesn't work for some reason you can still get around this by converting from mpeg-4 to m4v or .m4a. Many programs out there that can do this. Also, you can normally just change the .mp4 file extension to .m4a (just change the name of the file).

Hi David, Aleksander,

No worries, I have got around this by converting from mp4 to m4v. No need to hire someone ;-)

Benjamin.
PS: both iPod and iTunes are new, I actually bought the iPod today.
