Stressing out about Quant

Hey everyone,

I've been studying the pdf/cdf and its "theory" for 2 weeks now and am having a time trying to solve these questions. I feel comfortable with most of the curriculum as I received my CFA charter already, however I am trying to grasp the underlying concepts but its been about 20 years since i've used calculus.

I understand the want to fully understand the derivation of these topics, however given the time to the May test i don't want to waste undue time trying to understand for the sake of understanding. Will i be seeing questions like these and to what overall percentage of concern? Quant is 20% and i don't want to fail 80% of the test trying to master this.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

thanks

cory

Unless they've recently changed the syllabus, there's no calculus in the exam so I wouldn't focus on trying to understand the derivations. The concept and application is more important.

FRM Quants are exactly the same as CFA Level 1 and Level 2 quants (with only exception of copulas part). Thus, if you have a CFAI charter, it shouldn’t be a problematic chapter.

Thank you all for the responses. i have been looking intently on the "action" words and proceeding based off that. bit of a refresher on the quant side so want to make sure i understand to build on more complex topics. again thanks
