As soon as de Servigny mentioned this reference in his opening remarks, I had to find it.

Here it is for others that may have an interest in a review of Statistical Pattern Recognition and Supervised and Unsupervised Learning.

Best,

Brian

Dear Mr. Field, Thank you for this paper on Statistical Learning; after having been introduced to ML by the FRM, I find it difficult to get away from it:D, I am doing the ML course by Stanford (Prof. Andy Ng),however, I would like to know if there are any other avenues for me to expand it to a professional level.

I would be most grateful if you or @David Harper CFA FRM can help me out on the courses available on ML and the Data Sciences that are worthwhile.

Thanks

@QuantMan2318 - I would love to offer some insight but I am not an expert at ML! I do have limited experience with SAS Enterprise Miner and I know that SAS offers free instructional material. Other than that, I wouldn't be able to opine on other references at the moment. I suspect that strong Matlab skills would actually be better than familiarity with Enterprise Miner, but that is speculation.
