size of a contract

Hi David,

Most of the questions regarding future contract on commodities in the practice questions, assume that we know ( or should know) the size of the contract (for example oil, gold, corn, etc.).

For the FRM exam, Do we need to know by heart the size of ANY commodity future contract???
If yes, where cen I find the list of sizes?

Thanks,
Noa

Hi there
no you don't need to know these sizes of contracts by heart. You should just understand the specifications in the contract as far as i know. otherwise knowing each and every contract terms by heart is not required for the exam.

thanks

Hi Noa, I generally agree with Shakti except for Treasury Bond futures contracts, I think it's possible that GARP assumes you know their size (and, it would be hard to avoid knowing them after you do a few questions); and I would like to think you are ready for S&P futures contract size (also hard to avoid if you work questions).

Here was my prioritization last year, fwiw: http://forum.bionicturtle.com/threads/futures-contract-sizes.4959/#post-13442
