Past Exam Questions

Hi David,

Do you review past exam questions in the forum? I have the CD containing a lot of past FRM exam questions (from the FRM Handbook) - but the given answers are often more cryptic than the question itself!

If you do review them, do you separate out into Part 1 and Part 2? With the 2 part exams only being a recent development I'm finding there is a distinct lack of questions to practice. My initial solution was to try and use the full exam past questions - but I'm having difficulty assigning the questions as Part 1 or 2. (it is doable - but not quickly!).

I realise that you have your super-annotated version of the official 2010 sample questions, but it still feels like the questions are only covering a small fraction of the examinable material! I find your extra questions excellent for really drilling into a topic - but you're obviously limited to the topics covered in the GARP sample questions.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

It's true that, due to the newness of level 2 (part 2), there is not a preponderance (anywhere) of specifically designed questions for Level 2.

But please note we have (several) more Level 2 questions that only the super-annotated 2010. See:
http://www.bionicturtle.com/how-to/questions/category/risk-frm/?product=level-2
(your account > study planner has these too)
... these are level 2 focus
... I don't have all of level 2 covered (yet); I am currently writing one AIM per day, i am in credit risk currently

In regard to parsing pre-2010 GARP sample exams, you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT: there is no clean & obvious way to parse them! They were written before GARP expanded ... some of them map to L1, some map to L2, and many no longer apply (!!)

Hope that helps, David
