Odd Registration Message for Registering for FRM2 After Sitting in May 2012

Hello Everyone,

I sat for the May 2012 FRM 2 Exam. I was able to register and pay less than a week ago for the November 2012 Exam, but didn't. I have heard that GARP not allowing you to register is a good indication that you have passed. However, I am not sure, and this message I get seems tricky. Here is the message that I get:

"
Dear .....

Thank you for trying to register for the FRM / ERP Exam. Because you registered for the same Exam and the 2012 Exam results have not yet been released, we cannot allow you to register for the FRM / ERP Exam at this time. Once the results are published on July 6,2012 at that time you will be allowed to register for November 17, 2012 Examination.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact [email protected].
"

Does anyone else get this message? Did everyone? Did only a few? So my question is to everyone eagerly awaiting results, can you please check and see if by trying to register you get the same message or if they will let you pay, or even have you gotten a different message?

I had given the L1 in May, and have been eagerly waiting for the result. Unlike you, I had not tried registering before today. However, after seeing your post, When I tried to register for L1 again, a few minutes ago, I received the same message

I so hope that what you are saying means a pass result..

I honestly don't think it signifies a passing or failing. I think GARP is just letting you know that you can not register until the results have been released. If they let you go ahead and register (without knowing if you passed or not) it would cause a lot of confusion. Last year the passing/failing theory only worked for some registrants a day before the official results were released.

I agree with Suzanne. As early as a few weeks ago, you could register without knowing your results. This clearly is an issue and GARP has fixed it in their website. Last year, it did work a day or two before the exam, I think because, they updated the results in their database a day or two before and that caused the message to show up in your registration attempt indicating a pass or a fail. As they have taken care of it now, you will continue to see the same message as today until the time GARP publicly annouces the results. That's if GARP has fixed this correctly of course...
