A previous video in this CFA playlist looked at classic measures of central tendency. This is also called the first moment of the distribution or the distributions the location where is the distribution centered. When we say that I think most of us think of the average or the mean, but we saw that there is more than one definition of the mean including arithmetic, weighted, geometric, and harmonic. So, that naturally leads to what could be called the second moment of the distribution and just like we also called the first moment the location, the second moment could also be called scale. These are measures of dispersion.
