lpul83,

I think those are at the end of the notes because the formulas generally follow the study guide.

but, this forumula sheet is for premium (paid) members only, so I am a bit distressed that you have it, to be honest.
I have lots of free stuff, but premium needs to be paid for. So, you know, we can stay in business while offering free stuff :)

Thanks, David

I can only found Jorion chapter 7 & chapter 14.

well, it's hard to be too upset when you employ so many happy face icons :)

I see why you are not finding formulas. The formula summary is (was) linked to the AIMs (Learning Outcomes). Jorion's chapter's on VaR Method, Mapping, and Stress testing generally did not require candidates to know formulas.
Specifically, the AIMs need to say "compute" or "calculate" if a formula is implied.
e.g., VaR mapping last year was entirely conceptual (without formulas). I hope 2009 goes deeper here with calcs but I don't know. So I wouldn't put too much weight on the 2008: I've given GARP a lot of feedback on this topic in the last few weeks; they are signaling that there will be lots of changes.

We had a conf call with GARP this morning. I said: i am getting lots of questions on how to start prep early.
And, I asked them if they considered the following three books good for an early start on 2009:
1. Gujarati's 1-8 chapters (from last year);
2. The John Hull chapters, and
3. The Bruce Tuckman chaptes.

And, GARP's president and research director both said, yes, we fully agree. So, I infer from that (I took that to be a hint that) those three texts remain in 2009. So, IMO, that's the best early start. The Jorion VaR book is good too, but don't get too attached to my 2008 forumula sheet please, it will be updated for 2009 AIMs. (They also said the FRM handbook is being updated; a 5th edition)

Thanks, David

Thanks for your response and new information from GARP !

yes, i already have that 4 core reading books (Gujarati, Hull, Tuckman, & Jorion - Var)
but without Bionic Turtle Study Notes FRM 2008...
(i wonder if i could become your member right now..)

IMO Formula Summary 2008 is a GREAT JOB.
