Calculation of Standard Error.

Hi Team BT,

As per my understanding the formula for calculating SE is : Sample SD/SQRT(Sample size).

However in some cases the formula used to calculate SE is SQRT(Sample SD/N) in BT study notes.

This way of calculating will generate a different value of SE. Hence request to clarify on the formula of SE.

Regards,
Anir.

Hi Anir,

your first formula is correct.
The second one would be correct, if the variance instead of SD is used.
Maybe there are some text with a typo, where the ² was erroneously left out.

Hi
Yes the SE formula is Sample SD/SQRT(Sample size) as sqrt( Sample Variance)=Sample SD =>SE= SQRT(Sample Variance/N) , second one there is a typo it should be SQRT(Sample Variance/N)
Thanks
