Hi David,

Are there any major changes in 2013 aims for P1.T2 or can i start preparing with last year's material?

Regards

Hi Vikas,

With respect to P1.T2, there are virtually no substantive changes, you can see the difference in our reading-vs-reading XLS here
i.e., while the Miller stats replaces S&W stats (which replaced Gujarati; who remains the best of the three), the AIM concepts are essentially unchanged. T2 is only superficially changed, not changed in any way that impacts the exam experience. Thanks,

Hi David,

I noticed that there is now a requirement to compute the PDF and CDF of which requires understanding anti derivative of a PDF or CDF. In the 2013 study notes, there is not much information on computing the antiderivative. Can you point to some sites where I can understand the basics better?

Hi anand99,

yea, at this rate of FRM change, it's not efficient for us to introduce calculus (I wish, that would be so fun...) in part because many experts cover it, freely, so much better than we could. A google search will show how many places you can learn this. You don't need the whole introduction, you can get suprisingly far with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_rule and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chain_rule

Here are just two links (from forum search of "calculus")
Of course a lot of people use khan academy, but I think MathTV is awesome ... and Krista King is really good @ http://www.youtube.com/user/TheIntegralCALC
I've audit some of the coursera that Aleks references (single-variable calculus), he is incredible, on a whole other level, thanks,
