I am currently looking at what activities I could take to complete the CPD program this year.
A couple of observations:
- Most of the interesting stuff is not free and requires you to pay thousands of USD (or hundreds for books) which is a bit annoying I think.
- There are free stuff worth a...
You definitely will!
Also submitted on 5th and waiting but it's all fine... I mean we already had to wait more than a month to get the result so...
Hi Samuel,
Maybe this is clear from vgodawat but here is how to see it:
A FRA buyer buys a contract with a strike rate set an contract inception (the FRA rate). Then at settlement, you compare the actual rate with the strike rate (which was set at initiation).
If the actual rate is > FRA, then...
Agreed S666, I think they will validate your work experience before the 31/03..
But how long would that take?... Hard to tell unless previously certified FRM's could give some insight?
*so happy I passed it :) *
Guys for the work experience, what should we understand by manager name?
Is it our own name or the name of our manager?... I am not sure to understand the usefulness of this..
Passed!
All quartlies not available yet but could already see 1,1,1,2 :)
EDIT: yes thanks S666, this works: 1,1,1,2,1
Thanks to all of you for the positive contribution over the last few weeks.
Kind regards,
Haha it's really hard for me to focus at the office while waiting for these results...
I remember last year they were released in the night, around 4am of the 4th to the 5th of January. (Brussels time)
It is my expectation to see roughly the same timing this time (around 12 hours to go then...)
Guys, do you know how were we supposed to give market price of 2y zc? (we had 1year rate and fwd up/dowm one year with no indication of risk premium expectation)..
I dumbly performed an expected dcf (which works only for risk neutral trees) because I did not know what else to do..
I would say quantitative questions were roughly in line with GARP practice exam although some were maybe a bjt more tricky (but my judgement might be biased by the exam stress)
However a striking difference to me is the difficulty of qualitative questions.. GARP practice is really too simple in...
Yeah in my opinion this exam was fair (all the questions were related to AIM in GARP readings) but some questions were difficult as 2 options could really fit...
Well I guess all we have to do is waiting for 1.5 month and see what will be coming.. ;)
I don't know why I feel a bit like I am not prepared at all and then I look at hundreds of pages I wrote and think this has to be somewhere in my brain...
We'll see..
In any cases, good luck everyone!
@adambschrier ,
I guess you are referring to 404.1
Indeed the classical formula for IR is Alpha / Tracking error (this is what I have in my notes) with Alpha defined as usual = Rp - [rf + Beta p x (Rm - Rf) ]
Hope it helps..
EDIT:
On Investopedia, we read IR = (Rp - Ri) / Tracking error.. I...
Hi,
This morning, I came across a situation which I cannot logically solve (although I think this is really basic)
The goal is to find the price and expected return over one year of a ZC bond with 3 years to maturity.
The IR tree starts at 10% then move up to either 14% or 6% and then 18% /...
