How long do we have to wait for employment verification?

Got the mail today from GARP with the subject line- "Thank you for submitting your CV, you can now use the FRM designation". It took 44 days from the date of submission. "Patience is a virtue", and once you get it, it's worth it. Thank you again David and Suzanne.

How long do we have to wait for employment verification?

I provided GARP my work experience resume about a month back. I'm still waiting for their approval and meanwhile, on 1st Feb my "individual membership" expired. So, I'm wondering now if GARP would still approve my candidature for "Certified FRM", given I only have an "affiliate membership"...

Is FRM designation in itself good enough to get a risk job

When I posted this thread, I was just a candidate and didn't have any "skin in the game", so to say. Now that I have finished FRM, I get to see for myself as to how valuable it really is for someone like me, who does not have an ideal "Quant combined with technology background" to be a real...

    Lookup tables on exam

Hi David, Either in Level-1 or 2, are the candidates provided with lookup tables separately in case they need to answer any of such questions? Or is it that all the necessary information is provided in the question booklet itself?

Is FRM designation in itself good enough to get a risk job

Thank you Shakti for that perspective. I completely agree with you on the value of doing FRM and then devoting time to learn and master risk concepts and quantitative techniques. The point I was emphasizing on was whether the industry recognizes an FRM charter holder (with no special quant...

Is FRM designation in itself good enough to get a risk job

Do you need an Engineering, Statistics/Econometrics or Mathematics degree (undergrad/master's) to back your FRM or to be considered capable enough to do a risk management job? Or in the real world, can we say that FRM has justified itself as a first choice for any recruiter in the risk...

    Anyone took CAIA before?

CAIA is fairly different from a course like FRM or CFA, or at least that's what they'll have you believe. I got my Charter last year. The exam is conducted twice a year (March and September) and is an online exam. In terms of difficulty, it has the highest pass percentages compared to FRM or...
