I was lucky enough to pass although my quartiles were not brilliant (1,1,2,2,2,4). Huge thanks to @Nicole Seaman & @David Harper CFA FRM for all of the help and support throughout the process. I exclusively used BT for both levels and could not have completed FRM without this resource. Will do...
Yeah - the correct answer was zero but was not given as an option. See below for anybody curious enough to check :) I may well be mistaken but I don't think so....
CLO: 30 Loans 1mm each pay SOFR + 120bps
SOFR flat at 2%
Senior: 22.5mm SOFR + 40bps
Mezz: 6.0mm SOFR + 250 BPS
Equity: 1.5mm
$0...
I think what is unfair about the qualitative questions is that they are not necessarily tests of your understanding of a learning objective. If it was this means X because of Y I think the BT materials cannot be beaten. To be fair, I think BT materials are far and away the best regardless.
The...
I had a question on implementing both Vasicek and CIR which I thought was tricky. Main issue was the question where it asked how much interest was due to the equity tranche. The correct answer was zero but that was not given as an option. Did anyone else have this question (essentially $150k...
I understand it will be this Monday coming (last exams will be over the weekend).
I was the only person of four to show up to mine. Hoping that helps the passing average :D
Good luck Nishant! I would say 70% is almost certainly enough.
I'm in the same boat as you - the quantitative stuff is fine but the qualitative questions very vague and not what is practiced in the field
What about the answer to this Q:
The second one, is the question saying someone observed the market volatility is increasing, and asking the direction (increase/decrease) of senior debt, mezzanine debt and equity's value?
Equity goes up and senior debt goes down I presume?
Hi all,
Received my reminder for my exam this weekend and noticed the exam time has been changed from 1pm to 10am on the appointment confirmation (that you need to print out).
I've already printed mine out (so this is very annoying as I don't own a printer) and I received no other notification...
So can see you what quartile you got in each section?
Q1 = excellent etc
Rumour you need a combined score of 8 or lower to pass but I don't know if ever confirmed
Are we allowed discuss specific questions?
I didn't enjoy the exam at all being honest. I thought plenty of questions were badly phrased (especially probability questions).
An example, would you classify Op Risk as a FLOD function? In my mind this sits in between FLOD and SLOD but none of the...
Hi ag222, maybe call your exam centre who can advise?
Edited prior message as issue now resolved. Candidates should double check part 1 admissions e-mail as it may need amending (in some cases it omits middle name) and GARP can add you to an exceptions list.
@Nicole Seaman : Apologies for...
One item I've noticed that may be quite urgent @Nicole Seaman
For Part 1 this time I have been given an e-mail instead of an admission ticket. The e-mail however is based on my name as registered with GARP and not the ID I have provided for the exam! So my ID says John Joe Doe and my GARP name...
I don't think you get a separate ticket - if you read the email you just print the e-mail.
FWIW - I have an e-mail for Part 1 and an admission ticket (available via GARP website) for Part 2.
Still at about 50% confidence that it will go ahead (Part one is this Saturday)
I would have thought at this stage it will have to go ahead - or else it is very poor form from GARP.
Computer based so should be quite manageable. Saying that I am still optimistic it will go ahead
Going to be really interesting - my exam is still scheduled for the 8th and I've received all of the reminders etc.
Can anyone download their admission ticket yet? It's ridiculous really that you need a printed copy in this day and age. I don't have a printer and my office is closed - not going...
