Hi,
I am currently trying to set up an iron condor option strategy but am having difficulty assessing which stocks will have a sideways trend in terms of implied volatility (over say a period of a month). I would like to know how to find out which stocks will have low implied volitlity.
I have downloaded the data for the VIX (as it was recommended to me) but do not really know what I am looking at. It would appear IV is at a very low level relative to past data, but how do I know which firms in the S&P have this low IV and how do I relate the VIX to an individual stock?
By watching videos on this site I have found the way that David explained (using GoalSeek on Black-Scholes), but I am not sure what would be classed as 'low' volitlit when using the iron condor.
If anyone can assist in a way that is commonly used to assess stocks for an iron condor set-up I would be very grateful.
Thanks
