GARP sent out this email to us today regarding the registration process for Part 1 candidates taking the May or July exams in the new CBT format:

"As we are transitioning to CBT with the May 2021 Part I exam, candidates need to understand that registering with GARP and choosing either the May or July window is only the first step in the process and that to secure a seat at a site on a day/time that they want, they need to go to the site of the exam provider and schedule their exam. Requests are honored on a first-come/first-served basis so it behooves candidates to not wait until the last minute, lest they get shut out of their preferred day or time and have to adjust. This includes candidates who were postponed from this coming weekend’s exam administration. Changing the exam day/time within an exam window can be done once free of charge, but switching from May to July or November requires the payment of a deferral fee."

Random question, but do you know if they provide more blank paper than usual for the CBT exams? (Since we cannot write next to the actual questions).

Hello @ktrathen

Unfortunately, this is the first email we received with any information about CBT. GARP has not provided us with any specific information.

There was a glitch in the May exam. Although I had properly registered with GARP and PSI to take the exam on May 8 in Houston, Texas, the exam was not available to take. I have contacted both GARP and PSI and have received no resolution.

Does anyone know how to best proceed?
