Do I need it? Official books for the FRM Exam Part I

Hi Everyone,

I need some help with this question, thanks!

I currently have BT professional prep, and I am not sure if I need to purchase the official books from FRM(sold when you are registering for the exam). Mainly because 1) I am not sure if I will have time to get to it 2) not sure if it's necessary if I already have BT materials.

Can I please get some insight on what other people are using the official books for? If there is practice questions at the end of the each chapters by GARP, then I think it might be useful, but since I don't have the book, I am not sure if there is practice problems or not. Any insights on the value of these books are much appreciated.

No. You can find the primary sources online if desired, but BT notes are sufficient for most provided you do the practice questions as well.
