Learning objectives: Explain how a probability matrix can be used to express a probability mass function. Compute the marginal and conditional distributions of a discrete bivariate random variable. Explain how the expectation of a function is computed for a bivariate discrete random variable...
Hi David,
Apologies if this question is non-sensible or has been asked already (please tag a link if this question has been asked) but I just started preparing for an exam and I have one question so I know what to expect when I am learning it. Integration and calculus sort of questions as far as...
The probability matrix includes joint probabilities on the "inside" and unconditional (aka, marginal) probabilities on the outside. The key relationship is joint probability = unconditional * conditional.
