exam was too qualitative is what i felt. You had to know the material really well, else you would be lost. Overall a good exam- will i pass or not - well I would give myself a 50% probability. BT was very helpful. Thanks to David and Nicole!
I am from Toronto, I was able to register on Dec 15th , around 12.30 pm I saw many test centers in there, was able to get a spot on May 8th at 10 am at Mississauga location.
Can sombody help me understand this? I get the fact that we value it in the risk neutral world where we are indifferent about risk. why?
Is it due to the fact that if one were to value it in the risk world there would be arbitrage?. didnt quite get this.
Looks Like May 2021 Part 1 no change in curriculum ( go to Garp > FRM > Study materials> 2021 study guide changes = Part 1 all 4 sections addition/deletion/update says "none". Part 2 i see some changes). That is good, if they need to push Jan exam to May the curriculum stays the same.
Toronto has Oct and Nov folks taking the exam in Jan.........i would expect at least 400 to 500 folks ( maybe even more)..........I too am curious to see how they managed Montreal?
Interesting - if there are no changes in curriculum for part 1 - then i would end this misery of guessing if Jan exams will happen or not and move the exam to May. I guess it will be CBT ( or maybe not) - either way it is ok. I will wait for Dec 1 for the official notification to come out before...
I dont think that is accurate. If you call up Garp and You request them to defer to May 2021 - you follow 2021 curriculum......but if they defer ( like they did with oct and nov exams) to Jan 2021 or beyond say March or even May , only then it is 2020 curriculum.
Nicole had posted the below...
That is exactly what i was thinking.......i am kind of tired of this exam being postponed business and am now thinking of May 2021 ....issue is new curriculum, means i need to buy new books and it just adds to the costs. No motivation to study for "Jan" exams :(
Toronto candidates - How likely do you think the exam will happen in Jan? Given the current rate of infections, i just cant see the exam happening in Jan. I think it will be moved to March ( provided a vaccine is out in Dec end/Jan). Holiday season + new years is just going to make it worse...
If you go to Garp's site - after the oct exam.....the first postponement was Toronto, tells you there are easily over 100 ( If i were to guess, at a min 500 ....CFA 5000 take, 10% for FRM is a good guestimate). I wouldn't bet on the exam happening in Jan, you are correct its peak flu season +...
Thanks for posting that Nicole .....as i expected it got moved to Jan but to be honest I am not sure if Jan too will happen.....March would have been ideal but well......we take life one at a time....
