Mine finally was approved. Submitted on 4th December. The email arrived on Sunday early morning - I guess they are actually working around the clock if they approve and send this out on a Saturday. Patience pays off.
Thanks. Well, I had access to both Kaplan and BT but due to lack of time mostly used Kaplan as it’s better structured and well organised. So I managed to read all their books and used their Q-Bank.
However, I regretted numerous times during my preparation that I bothered with Q-Bank at all (at...
Just wanted to support this statement - the trick suggested earlier in this forum resulted in me getting the letter that I failed the exam encouraging me to register for the next Part II exam. Which I actually thought was true, given that I did have very little time for preparation just before...
Passed! Even though admittedly quite barely but pass is a pass! But I only had 3 weeks of prep time just before October after everything was cancelled in May...
The problem is that it's not really. CET1 is pure equity and it stands for Core Equity Tier 1. Core Tier 1 is not very precise at all, unless it was designed to get people confused (the strategy which seemingly worked well).
Actually I also said leverage ratio because "Core Tier 1 Ratio" was stated in the question but it was really confusing as Leverage Ratio is indeed calculated by dividing Tier 1 ratio by leveraged exposure and it was lower than that of peers. However, what was unclear to me was whether GARP...
My sense is that because the COVID situation is so fluid at the moment and have been evolving so rapidly in the past several days (at least in Europe) that GARP must be considering cancelling/postponing the exam whatsoever (instead of changing dates for single locations on a daily basis as was...
Does anybody know whether all those COVID related exam extensions (from May 2020 to October 2020 and now to Jan 2021 in some instances) will extend the 4-year deadline for passing Level 2?
I wonder how GARP can even plan at the moment until when to postpone in this very fluid and rapidly evolving situation. For example, if the exam is postponed until June, what makes GARP comfortable that this date won't need to be postponed again? In my very humble opinion the best approach...
In the sense that only one region was affected, rather than pretty much all, so the scale was completely different. I think it was quite clear from the context what I meant.
This applies to the US only. In other countries (like Germany) similar restrictions are only until mid-April so on these grounds alone GARP doesn’t need to cancel for now.
Was it just me or the FRM Mock simply does not represent the difficulty, structure and depth of the actual exam questions? I completed the Mock in around 3 hours (with a couple of water/loo breaks) with score 75%. Out of the incorrect 25% at least 5-10 were really silly mistakes.
On the real...
