Hello, It comes from the relation r continuous = ln(1+r annual), for example the us rate continuously compounded is given by ln(1+4%)=3.922% The general relation is given by rc = ln(1+ rk/k) equivalent to rk = (exp(rc)-1)*k where rc is the continuously coumpounded rate and rk the rate...

Are the FRM Part 1 Exam Questions restricted to LOS?

Based on my experience from the may 2021 part 1 exam, I can confirm that GARP questions were addressed with respect to the LOs... problem is that (at least for part 1) there are 1500 LOs for a total of 100 tested questions on exam day, so GARP can (and in the may exam they did it) ask anything...

    CVA increase/decrease with Credit spread

Hi @David Harper CFA FRM , I have two doubts that bothered me for a bit with respect to this topic.... say I have a derivative instruments portfolio (and netting condition as per my ISDA) composed of european options and irs swaps..... say that my exposure at the time of valuation represents an...

the part 2 exam will be given in december (cbt format) now. my advice to you would be to wait and settle a bit till july and if it is a pass then go for it (i plan to do this so it is just my personal view)

Exam Feedback May 2021 Part 1 Exam Feedback

Hi, I think the above review is on point. I took the exam in Mexico City, I think that globally the test was fair but with some really poorly worded questions which let some space for interpretation (I remember two hypothesis testing questions awfully written). As mentioned above, a bunch of...

    Exam score from cbt format

Hi, I am not discussing anything specific relative to the may21 part 1 exam. But, is it just me or the cbt format allow the candidate to see its individual score at the end of the test ? I was quite surprised by this, I don't know if others were also able to see something similar...
