Hi,
I am taking Part 2 in May 2015.
Those who attempted it in November 2014, Please share your thoughts on how to nail it.
Also, what you would have liked to change in your preparation.
You may add, where BT helped and what more we should expect from David and team.
Thanks,
Amresh

Please help. (May be it is due to my membership type).

One more:
Dowd says : advantage of age weighted HS is it allows us to grow sample size. Under demerits it is stated that "effective sample size reduces". Please explain.
Hi David/other members,
1.AIMs don't mention order stats and bootstrap methods to estimate confidence intervals. Can we skip them?
2. Could you please explain correlation weighted HS?
Waiting on chapter 3 queries as well. :)
Happy learning,
Amresh
Hi David/ Other members,
Two things which i had difficulty to understand from videos/ notes are:
1. Estimating standard errors for estimators of coherent risk measures -->confidence interval method illustrated in Dowd.
2. Calculation of normal deviate in coherent risk measurement example...
Hi David,
Could you please help me with the sequence in which i shall start going through P2 lessons, considering your frequent updation and natural progression.
Regards,
Amresh
I remembered .94 and .97 part; but as per schweser, Riskmetrics is a special case of ewma for which we use .94 n .97 for daily n monthly calculations. And question had ewma mentioned. Hence I randomly used figures of third day and got something close to .97. But I can't rely on my calculations...
I just applied EWMA formula and solved for Lambda. I was not having much time left and the mind was completely shut by that time. I got around 0.97, if I remember it correctly .
