How long do we have to wait for employment verification?

Hi Adisson, Well, that's disappointing to wait for such a long time, especially since the exam was taken in mid-Nov-12. David, since the official "waiting time" communicated by GARP is 4 weeks, do you think it is possible to do something about it? Thanks, trabala38

Hi pojo! Congratulations! So, for you it took 4 weeks to get the "certified". I have submitted mine 2.5 weeks ago, 1.5 weeks to go if GARP respect the 4 weeks limit! Keeping my fingers crossed! Cheers, trabala38

How long do we have to wait for employment verification?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to know if people having cleared Level 2 in Nov-12 and having submitted their CV/resume since January, have already got their official "FRM certified" title? As explained in the message above, I have sent my experience to GARP 2 weeks ago, but I haven't got...

How long do we have to wait for employment verification?

Hi Alkour, This sentence is right. As it is used by GARP on your Member Profile page, you can use "FRM Holder" until you get the official "Certified FRM title". When did you submit your CV/resume? I did upload mine 1 week ago (Sunday 13 January 2013) and I haven't received yet the email...

Hi everyone, I passed November 2012 Part II, scored 11111. (November 2011 part I was also 1111). Definitely, the material provided by BT helped a lot to achieve that result I have to say. I recommend BT to everyone taking the FRM exam. David: what is the status of your project to provide...

FRM Level 2 , Nov 2012 : Post what you remember here

Hi everyone, sleepybird @[email protected] I also chose ES, despite I wasn't sure you can say it is an "easy to interpret". The thing that decided me was the fact that since VaR is easy to understand, because the VaR is just a "point" on a distribution, the ES is the average of the...

Study Note - Market Risk Vol. V

Hi David, I was reading your Study Notes for Market Risk, and while reviewing the Key Rate chapter, I found something that bugged me. You wrote, on p. 34. "The 2-year shift, for example, increased (“shocked up”) by 1 basis point (0.01%) the discount rate for all of the coupons up to year 10...

Merton Model & Distance to Default - Which formula to use

Hi David, Well, in addition to your post, since I was still troubled by the absence of risk-free in the formula stated on p. 64 of BT notes (referring in fact to Stulz Chapt. 18). In fact, there is a risk-free interest rate, but it is embedded in the discounted face value fo debt (cf p. 64...

Merton Model & Distance to Default - Which formula to use

Hi everyone, hi David, I am reviewing the Merton Model and the Distance-to-Default concept. However, I am a little lost when it comes to formula. Especially, when reviewing BT T6 Notes, it is written on p.64: S(V,F,T,t) = V * N(d) - Pt (T) * F * N(d- sigma*sqrt(T-t)). where...

FRM Fun 24, MBS Prepayments (P1 or P2)

Hi David, Here are my answers: 1. Yes: higher prepayment speeds means mortgagors are able to refinance quicker, before a default occur. We can deduce that borrower default rate decreases as a consequence. Also, by prepaying their debt, the obvious consequence is that debt is retired, and...

Credit Risk of an Option (call/put)

Hi everyone, I wanted to have your insights on how to compute the current credit risk on an option. Let's say we have are long the (plain vanilla) call on a stock. Strike Price=90, current stock price=60. Price of the call/premium=5. Time to Maturity=1 year. Imagine that the counterparty...

FRM Fun 23, Market Risk (guest submission)

Hi David, According to me both of them have a problem or imprecision. 1. "Effective" is not applicable for the yield. "Effective" is usually associated with effective duration: "effective" is used when you reprice (2 times) a bond after shocking the interest rate and compute the price...

New Level 1 (Part 1) Formula Summary Sheet available

Hi David, Thank you for your answer. As you can see, I am not yet very active on the forum... I am currently busy printing all the study notes, PQs and slides, because I like the "desk, paper and pencil" approach when it comes to studying. As for your former question on point 2: I think...

Hi David, I did postpone the May P2 exam to November due to tight work schedule and thus I will take P2 in November. I haven't been following BT for a while and I got 2 questions: 1) Did you publish any Structured Email (I haven't received one in my mailbox) for P2? 2) Do you plan to publish...
